☀️ TWEEKLY Spotlight ☀️
Emma Wain — @ewainy
In this TWEEKLY Spotlight, I caught up with Emma Wain. Emma is a self-taught front-end developer, coding boot camp participant, JAMstack enthusiast, and beauty therapist.
Emma recalls her first memory of working with technology was when she built a computer from scratch in the IT department at her dad’s work when she was a kid! She learned all about how technology was used to manage printing presses and even got to see “robots” carry huge rolls of paper to the presses. From this point on, she was hooked on technology.
Emma loves working with the JAM stack. She is a visual and creative person and enjoys working primarily in the front-end. Emma believes that the JAM stack is the future of front-end web development. Emma has been surprised by the community and people in tech. She is blown away by the support and friendships made through Tech Twitter and is grateful for the positive impact they have made in her life.
Emma is weighing her options for the immediate future. She is excited about working through her coding boot camp and then entering the industry. Developer Advocacy and front-end development have both piqued her interest. Regardless, her ideal position would be remote so that she can pursue her passion for traveling.
Outside of technology, Emma enjoys traveling and exploring. Being a beauty therapist has taught her the importance of self-care, mindfulness, and being present in the moment.
After speaking with Emma, it’s obvious that she is incredibly passionate about front-end development, advocacy, and self-care. She has a bright future ahead of her in the industry!
Emma is scheduled to speak at Jamstack East Coast in September
